CED® Flat Dies:
Coated plates with backers and, if required, feeder plates.

Features:

• Nitriding and polishing of the bearing channel and associated dimensional changes are no longer necessary
• Greater durability thanks to extra protection against wear and tear

Examples:

• Flat profiles with thin walls and complex profile ranges as well as small fins
• Very tight profile tolerances
• High surface finish (molding profiles, etc.)

CED® Porthole Extrusion Dies:
Plate and/or die mandrel are coated in one piece.

Features:

• High production consistency with minimal dimensional variation
• Greater durability – bearing channel protected against wear and tear
• Environmentally-friendly due to lower use of sodium hydroxide

Examples:

• Greater wall thicknesses > 1.5 mm
• High volume profiles (automotive, construction, etc.)
